Outside Christmas Lights

A couple of Saturdays ago, Kyler and I hung our very first Christmas decor at the new house, and it just so happened to be the first time we'd ever hung up outdoor Christmas lights too. After visiting our neighbors to borrow their ladder and a trip to every major home improvement store Target, we had everything we needed. After a slight learning curve and a realization that some roof peaks are just too high and close to power lines to try to decorate, we had all the lights up. And it might've taken us four hours, but it may have very well been the last day of nice weather so we were glad we got to enjoy it. (Now I'll be found mourning inside until approximately April).

We had some boxes of lights to return since we decided not to decorate the tall peaks, so we went to town to do so. When we left the house, we left the lights plugged in so we could check out our handiwork upon our return.

Behold our Christmas lights:

Since it was almost mid-November at that point, we had planned on unplugging the lights until after Thanksgiving. However, the next night, we noticed two other houses on our road had turned their Christmas lights on as well. So we had to leave them on!! Kyler said after all that work, he didn't mind leaving them on a couple of extra weeks.
