Exciting News!

Sorry, this isn't Part II of our gardening post that we promised back in May. But I interrupt our blogging hiatus to announce that we're having a baby!

Kyler and I found out the day we got back from the Gray family vacation in July, but we were finally able to see it(?) last week.

Now I'm going to go all I-haven't-written-a-blog-post-in-five-months-so-I'm-lacking-all-creativity.

FAQ:

When are you due?
March 28th (I'm not sure why, but I'm secretly pulling for an April Fool's baby).

How are you feeling? Any morning sickness?
Currently, fine. If I open those refrigerator doors, that answer will probably change. The smells are killing me. I did go through a couple weeks of unpredictable sickness. Morning sickness is such a misnomer.

Any cravings?
Not really. There were a lot of food aversions for the first few weeks. I think for two weeks straight I only consumed bread. Bagels and grilled cheese sandwiches were my best friends. I think I'm over that now. Fingers crossed. [An afterthought: water. I can't get enough of it. I'm always thirsty.]

Are you showing?
Nope. Feeling a little snug in some of my clothes, but I'm thinking I can make it through my summer clothes and of course, I've always been a fan of stretchy pants, so we might make it through fall. This is all dependent on my current mood. I haven't gone clothes shopping since we found out in July (and I'm in major need of retail therapy), so I might need to buy new clothes sooner rather than later.

How did you tell Kyler?
The day we left the beach, we talked about 'that time of the month' and how it should be arriving at any time. When we got home, Kyler immediately headed out to mow our yard that was looking pretty crazy after a week of vacation. Little did I know that the mower was 'broken' and he was super frustrated. Meanwhile I was inside 'doing laundry' and decided I couldn't wait any longer to find out. So I took a test and walked out to the garage waving my two little blue lines. He was fussing at the mower and turned around, and I was all like look what I have!!! That cheered him up for sure! (In case you're wondering about the lawn mower, a rock was just lodged under the blade. All was well with the world that day.)

Are you going to find out the gender?
I don't think so. We had never discussed it before but realized that neither of us really want to.

Are you going to take pictures/blog about your pregnancy?
Maybe. Hopefully. I can't commit, but I want to say yes.
